This is a late post, but better late then never, right?
Last Sunday’s festivities included that of attending the annual summer picnic held by my mother’s work. Every summer, the employees gather together on a warm Sunday in July with their families and friends to eat, relax, and have a good time. The only thing I usually dread about going to these events is that besides my sisters, there’s barely ever anyone there who’s around my age! Nevertheless, I always find myself having a good time — it’s a great way to bond and get to know who my mother’s working with, and I mean, hello, there’s a heck of a lot of food! (That’s the best part).
For this woodsy occasion, I wanted to wear something that was comfortable, breezy, and not too clean! And I thought a denim romper dress would be super perfect — but the problem was I didn’t have one! I looked into my closet and searched for the closest thing.
I opted for this denim romper (more like fake denim, but still cute!) from Forever 21. The romper runs a tad loose for me at the top, so I threw on this button up of a lighter denim wash over top. It’s more of a relaxed fit, so I took the ends of the top and made a knot that rested right below my midriff. Super comfy and super cute!
I then threw on my straw fedora that I’ve gotten ages ago and tied this string bracelet on my wrist that my boyfriend and his little sister made before we even started dating! And of course I had to go with the Converse for shoes because I didn’t want my feet to get dirty!
And that was all for the day. At one point, the “Watch Me Nae-nae” song came up and it came to a point where I had to show my Titas how to do the dance. Although I dance like an awkward stick, I had an amazing time busting my moves and seeing my mom and her coworkers do the same! I was able to get it all on video too ;]
Thanks for reading guys! Hope you have a great rest of the day.
