So I wanted to share some winter loves that have been my holy grails for the past six years. These are products that I’ve been using since high school up until now, my third year in college, and these babies never fail to satisfy my dry skin.
Since my skin is more on the dry side, I do tend to focus more on the elasticity of my skin over the little tidbits of acne that come every now and then. When dealing with my acne, I’ll wash my face using some nice acne wash or even bar soap. On other days, when my skin is acting sweeter and just wants a little moisture, I head for these products.
1) Pond’s Dry Skin Cream
Price: $5 to $7
This thick cream is amazing for people with dry skin. It’s rich, thick, yet easily gets soaked in by thirsty skin. If you have normal to oily skin, this might feel a little too heavy or greasy. But for us dry skin gals, this is the perfect moisturizer that does the job of simply giving you what your dry skin needs.
2) Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser
Price: $5 to $7
This makeup removing cream is thicker than the moisturizer, which is great because it helps removes your makeup while not stripping away any natural oils on your skin. In fact, it kind of moisturizes while cleans at the same time. Apply a dot on the forehead, chin, two cheeks, and nose. Then take a damp cloth and remove any dirt and makeup.
3) Naive Cream Cleanser
Price: $6 to $8
This Japanese skincare product is accessible in most Asian supermarkets. It’s rich, creamy, and super moisturizing! It’s really a dual action product since it cleans your makeup off completely (yes, completely!) while leaving your skin super soft and smooth afterwords.
4) Freeman Charcoal & Black Polishing Mask
Price: $2 (Packet Size)
This. Is. Amazing. This $2 dollar packet has been the bomb diggity for my skin these past few months (the newest product in my skincare regimen). It has black charcoal that “helps absorb oil and impurities without over-drying,” and black sugar that “helps exfoliate away dulling skin cells for softness and clarity.” Put this on once a week, and leave it on your skin for five minutes. After five minutes, scrub with your fingertips and rinse — you’ll feel the sugar exfoliating your skin and it feels amazing. Once you pat your skin dry, you’ll be amazed at how soft your cheeks will feel!
Be sure to check these products out, fellow dry skin peeps! They’ve worked for me for the longest time and I hope you’ll fall in love with them too!
